Trail Description
Faulkner Park in Tyler features 5.9 miles of tight, intermediate-level trail spread over four loops. Almost the entire park is shaded by pine trees, and the trail system is very well-maintained—including some nicely constructed bridges.
This trail crosses a walking path several times, and locals recommend walking that path once to help get your bearing within the park. The off-road trail itself is very fast with lots of twists and turns.
A little over halfway through the trail there are a series of switchbacks to navigate. When you see the water treatment plant, you’ll be at the base of the climb that leads to the switchbacks. Though rated intermediate, much of the trail system if beginner-friendly because it’s not very technical. The intermediate rating is due mostly to the climbs and tightness of the trees.
